Bethany and Richard Merkling

Spanish Fork Directors Bethany and Richard Merkling are new to Utah. Bethany loves kids and theatre and is very excited about working with both!

Biography

She was on the Dean’s list at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia before being awarded a Master of Theatre Arts Degree from the University of Nebraska. She has received numerous honors, most notably the American College Theatre’s Awards for Innovation in Theatre Arts, and for Excellence in Costume Design. Bethany is currently teaching fourth grade at North Star Academy in Bluffdale.

Richard has performed in and directed numerous Children’s Theatre Productions at BYU and UNO. He has experience in theatre management, touring, basic knowledge of set construction, makeup, acrobatics, juggling, puppetry, dance, vocal performance, and cello. He has always loved theatre and is excited about sharing that passion with young people this year.
